An hour in your home is the beginning. Here is how we get from that first conversation to a design, an itemized proposal and construction.

Phone consultation
We get in touch within 24 business hours after you contact us. We collect details on your home, design expectations, project details, budget and timeline, and explain our process.

In-home consultation
We view your home and its important areas, then talk about your project and a basic budget. The visit takes around one hour to finish. You will not receive a written proposal before the design is finished.

We also explain the design retainer. It is required to move into design; the fee depends on your project's needs.

Design
We review the design expectations, complete an as-built and photograph the existing space. The preliminary design typically includes 3-D renderings, elevations, floor plans, sketches, material samples and inspiration ideas.
Depending on the project's complexity, design can take 2-4 weeks to finish. One or two revisions is typical.

The proposal
Once the design is complete, the proposal is broken down into more than 20 different phases. Each phase shows approximate cost, actual costs, not applicable or allow item costs.
Allowances cover the materials you choose, like flooring, cabinetry and tile. Final allowance selections happen with the designer after the contract is signed.

Contract signing
The standard contract explains the starting and ending date, breakdown of payments and the items the State of Minnesota requires. Once signed, we can schedule the project, order supplies and complete final allowance selections.

Construction
Once the contract, design and related agreements have been collected, work on your remodeling project can begin.
